Zero Balancing

"I learned about Zero Balancing after a snowboarding injury. I’m usually very skeptical of anyone working on my body, but with Cara, I immediately felt I could trust her.  The first time I had a session, she worked on my hips and it felt so good and there was immediate relief around my tailbone. Most importantly, I felt with Cara, I was treated as an individual with specific needs and not just a body. Every experience has been incredible. I can't wait for my next session.”

Gabi Menezes, Independent Caregiver, Crossfit Enthusiast & Graphic Designer, Brooklyn, NYC

“I’ve been seeing Cara for ZB sessions for over a year. What sets ZB apart from a massage or other energy work I’ve received is intentionality. Cara spends time discussing the status of body, mind and emotions as well as setting an intention, or frame, for the session. I always feel at ease in Cara’s capable presence. I especially love when she works on my face and skull for allergy and stress relief. Cara has helped me find physical and emotional relief from cancer treatments as well as anxiety. She embodies holistic healing and has a wealth of knowledge of the physical body. I highly recommend Cara, as well as the practice of ZB, for anyone who is looking to be proactive about their health and wellbeing.”

Kelly Kaso, High School English Teacher/Yoga Instructor, Queens, NYC

“Compared to other therapeutic modalities, the Zero Balancing approach felt different. ZB does not put the focus on your injury or pain. Instead, it puts the focus on the quality of your energy. Before my session, I couldn’t open my jaw enough to take a bite from a sandwich without pain. During the session, my brain and pain went out. Afterwards, it was incredible, I could open my jaw without the pain for the first time in a long while. I felt my energy running through my body. I felt I was floating in the sky amid the clouds…relaxed.”

Nicole Minzer, Sports Rehabilitation Therapist, Santiago, Chile

“I had the pleasure of working with Cara on a weekly basis for several months. The experience was transformative. I looked forward to every session. ZB is more than just bodywork. We had deep conversations each week and used them to frame our work together. When we began our sessions, the contents of my daily life were fairly stable yet I felt like I was riding a mental and emotional rollercoaster. By the time I completed my set of sessions, there was a lot of fluctuation in my daily life, however, mentally, emotionally and physically, I felt stable. Cara is a joy and I am so grateful to her for the masterful work she does.”

Maya Kumits, Co-Founder of The Spring Meditation, NYC

“I’ve been dedicated to seeing Cara since my first Zero Balancing session with her in 2016. As a dancer and Pilates teacher I’m constantly moving and learning through movement. Seeing Cara has become an important part of the work I do to keep my body spacious and supple to new possibilities. Each session with her is unique. She is an invaluable source of information…I always leave with new knowledge about how to move through the world.”

Kay Ottinger, Co-Owner of Second Story Movement Studio, Jackson Heights, NYC

“I had severe pneumonia for a month. Being in bed for so long I felt unsteady walking. While visiting my daughter in Brooklyn, she made me an appointment to see Cara. During the session, Cara applied gentle pressure to several points on and near my legs. Afterwards, when I got up, I could coordinate movement and balance on my legs with ease. I felt a new agency in walking and my daughter told me I looked much more sure-footed. This steady feeling gave me more energy and movement security. I got my legs back! I wish I lived in New York, I would see Cara every week.”

Sara Spang, Palo Alto, CA

“Cara is not only incredibly knowledgeable about her craft, she is gentle in her approach and creates a safe and warm space to allow her clients to open up. After our session, aches and pains had been worked out, and I felt lighter emotionally and spiritually as well.

Eleni Simos, The Clean Eating Chick, Queens, NYC

“My most recent session with Cara invigorated my mind and body; I felt revitalized and relaxed simultaneously. The best thing about ZB is that each session feels like a completely different experience and I can come in with any idea or suggestion that she will accommodate.”

Nikolas Vagenas, Actor/Bartender, Brooklyn, NYC

“I’m very grateful to have experienced working with Cara. She’s an incredibly knowledgeable teacher that is easy to speak to and a wonderful listener.  Throughout my sessions, I’ve learned useful meditation techniques that are outside of the box and that add value to my usual physical therapy routine.  I’ve been preparing for a torn labrum surgery and my sessions with Cara have been invaluable because they've decreased my inflammation and discomfort in the weeks leading up to surgery when I couldn't do much else. She checks the boxes for physical, mental and even emotional well-being. I feel positively transformed each time I leave a session, which is not easy to come by!”

Natural Dreamwork

“I’ve been working with Cara exploring my dreams and not one session has passed that I haven’t felt immense healing. We’ve touched on parts of myself that have always wanted to be seen.

Cara brings knowledge from different practices, such as somatic bodywork, which really sets her apart. After each session, I get a homework assignment that Cara creates based on what my dreams present. The homework helps me integrate emotions and experiences that I’d previously locked away. I’m in awe of this work! I highly recommend Cara to anyone who collects their dreams regularly or who is looking for a more intimate, creative, supported approach to self-healing. It is so true that we have everything we need inside us!”

Gizelle Peters, Fine Artist/Photographer, Oahu, HI

"I felt accompanied, held and treated with great affection and respect throughout this whole journey with Cara. She is a professional with extensive knowledge, but above all, she has a lot of humanity. Her presence allowed me to both see and work on challenging topics. I really felt cared for and supported."

Nuria Fernandez-Cid, Pyschotherapist, Madrid, España

"Cara is a graceful and skilled dream guide. Her genuine curiosity about my dream and what it had to offer me along with the tools she used to gently guide me to an expanded perspective was deeply moving and impactful. I left our meeting feeling like I had gained entry to new territory and with a deepened curiosity to explore more of this beautiful work."
Justine, Art Curator/Mother, Vergennes, VT

Somatics

“I always feel held, both physically in space as well as emotionally, by Cara’s intentional framing of our sessions. I’ve had several ‘ah-ha’ moments about how my body carries its history and how I want to be in the world. The effects are deeply felt long after a session. I cannot recommend working with Cara highly enough.”

Saifan Shmerer, Artist/Interior Designer, Brooklyn, NYC

"It's as if Cara speaks the language of the body fluently; listening deeply, and attuning to what I am feeling. It’s a sort of dialogue she engages in, something I hadn’t experienced prior to working with her, and it always leaves me feeling aligned, spacious and rooted."

Rachel Bar-Gadda, Brooklyn, NYC
